- US official ôGK Smileyö requested some incidents of NASA deception regarding
- UFOs as well as examples of astronaut sightings. Here they are once again,
- since he ignored my reply yesterday following his request. I would be
- interested in any rational response by ôSmiley,ö Dean, and Oberg regarding
- these cases.
-
- 1) Photographs of domes on the Moon are commonplace. The Antoniadi Crater
- as photographed by the UV/Visible Camera is quite interesting and I would
- suggest that everybody download it from the Clementine page. The three
- visible domes are perfectly round, as evidenced by the sharp, perfectly
- round shadow. In fact, back in the good old days of the late 50s and
- early 60s before the notion of non-humans in our solar system attracted
- the severe scientific ridicule it gets today, Carl Sagan was a huge
- proponent of the theory, according to his own speeches as the Advisor on
- Extraterrestrial Life to the Armed Services. But, with his rise to
- prominence came a drastic shift to fanatical debunking, just like Dr.
- Menzel of the 1950s -- who was later verified to have had mysterious ties
- to the NSA and CIA for unknown purposes. And finally, Harvard Observatory's
- "Sky and Telescope" (same one as now??) discussed the "moon domes" in their
- January, 1958 issue. Too bad NASA never released all those Ranger Eight
- photos, too. The domes also move around the surface, rarely staying in
- one place.
-
- 2) In December 1963, "Sky and Telescope" discussed the reports from Lowell
- Observatory of the October 29th observations where two clusters of bright red
- lights were detected north of Herodotus; on November 27th, the red spots were
- no longer seen at Herodotus, but rather were clustered in an oval formation
- along the south rim of Aristarchus. Strange white flashes were also regularly
- noted, and not the type of light spots typical along the terminator where high
- peaks grab sunlight.
-
- 3) An official log from the tracking facility at Cape Canaveral, Florida, dated
- January 10, 1961, shows an interesting event surrounding the test firing of a
- Polaris missile. The log shows that while Polaris was still climbing, the
- "unidentified object", as the log referred to it, which was far larger than
- the missile, pulled up alongside the missile. It was so large that the
- automatic radar tracking gear at the facility locked onto the UFO. A few
- minutes later, the UFO left, but the radar kept tracking the UFO for fourteen
- more minutes.
-
- 4) During the first orbital launching of a Gemini craft on April 8, 1964, a
- mission carrying no astronauts but only instrumentation, a strange encounter
- occurred followed by a feeble NASA debunkery job that was later refuted. Four
- objects took up positions around the Gemini -- two above, one behind, and one
- below. The positions were maintained for a COMPLETE ORBIT before they sped off.
- In Congressional inquiries, the Air Force claims that Leo Abernethy, Chief,
- Mission Support, Apollo Flight Operations, Office of Manned Space Flight, said
- in a letter to Congress that "No unidentified objects were observed accompanying
- or pursuing the GT-I spacecraft launched into orbit on a Titan 2 booster on
- April 8, 1964. Objects observed, which were detected on radar, have been
- identified as minor structural pieces which routinely break free from the
- expendable booster portion in the spacecraft and booster separation process.
- There is no indication of the presence of any material which was not originally
- part of the launched vehicle."
-
- HOWEVER -- when NASA was queried in a letter about the matter on August 8,
- 1965, A. P. Alibrando, the Public Affairs Officer for Manned Space Flight, NASA,
- said "The answers to your questions on Gemini I are as follows: The second
- stage of the booster and the spacecraft DID NOT SEPARATE [caps added] because
- the flight was a test of only the launch vehicle and guidance system and the
- structural integrity and compatibility of the spacecraft and the launch vehicle.
- The first stage of the Titan landed south of Bermuda. It is the second stage
- of the Titan which actually places the Gemini spacecraft into orbit. In Gemini
- I, both the booster and the spacecraft reentered the atmosphere as a SINGLE
- UNIT." So, the Air Force LIED to the American public and to Congress, and
- gullible scientists BLINDLY LAPPED IT UP. Now, what were those four objects
- that accompanied our spacecraft for a full orbit?
-
- 5) When Gordon Cooper made his final orbit of Earth in May of 1963, he radioed
- down to the tracking station near Perth that he was being approached by a
- greenish object moving east to west, contrary to orbits of manmade satellites
- at the time. It was also seen on Perth tracking gear. NBC carried the report
- and was to be interviewed, but Cooper couldn't give a statement, because NASA
- said they would give the statement. But not even NASA gave a statement.
- Green object? Sure, meteor, why not. Meteors are always green and
- corroborated by radar.
-
- 6) On June 4, 1965, Edward White and James McDivitt were passing eastward over
- the Hawaiian Islands when McDivitt spotted a "weird object" with some sort of
- "projections like arms". McDivitt took film with a camera mounted inside the
- cabin. A few minutes later, more objects were seen over the Caribbean.
- Naturally, the Air Force promptly announced that they had only seen the Pegasus
- satellite. But the tracking system showed that Pegasus was 1200 miles away at
- the time. So then our friends at USAF said that it "might" have been Pegasus
- after all, since a "re-check" of the calculations indicated that Pegasus
- "might have been" ten or twelve miles away from Gemini as it passed over the
- US. Hardly convincing, since now the USAF forgot that Gemini was over the
- middle of the Pacific. Sometimes the USAF almost tries to sound pathetic.
- But this time, it flopped, because the Air Defense Command always said that
- it can pinpoint the location of any and all satellites in orbit. A 1200
- mile error? Doubt it. Finally, a NASA spokesman admitted that "Careful
- study of the photos taken by McDivitt of the object seen from the capsule
- shows nothing that looks like a satellite." Well, what did it look like?
- One of the movie frames was released and it shows an oval/disk shaped object
- with a slight glow behind it. The photo looks NOTHING like a satellite -- it
- looks like a glowing disk.
-
- 7) On the Gemini 7 flight with Borman and Lovell in late 1965, during the second
- orbit, they reported a "bogey", or unidentified possibly hostile aircraft. The
- ground station suggested that he was seeing the burned-out booster rocket.
- Borman said he was seeing the booster -- "a brilliant body tumbling along in
- the sunlight" -- but that the bogey was something entirely different, in
- another field of view. Well, sure enough, the Air Force Debunkery Squad was
- trotted out to announce that it was really the debris of a Titan rocket that
- had blown up during a faulty launch a few weeks before. But NORAD destroyed
- this explanation by saying that "There is no rocket debris, Titan or otherwise,
- in that area at this time going in that direction at that altitude."
-
- Most scientists find all this less than convincing, but it's quite clear that
- our atomic bomb activities in New Mexico caused, just two years later, a massive
- UFO wave in 1947 focusing on New Mexico and culminating in the Roswell event.
- As soon as we send people into space, sure enough, UFOs are seen all over the
- place by our astronauts. And the USAF has repeatedly demonstrated their
- bumbling incompetence with reckless abandon in explaining these presently
- unexplained events. Nothing here is indisputable proof of extraterrestrial
- visitation, but these are anomalies persistently defying any conventional
- explanation. And the NASA and USAF public posturing is less than pleasing.
